A standard outdoor track lane is 1.22 metres (4 feet) wide, as specified by World Athletics.

How much longer is lane 8 than lane 1?

Lane 8 is approximately 53.7m longer per lap than lane 1. Over 400m, lane 8 covers roughly 453.7m without a stagger.

Lane 1 is measured 0.30m from the inner kerb (or 0.20m if there is a raised kerb). All other lanes are measured 0.20m from their inner lane line.
