Hurdle Spacing Calculator — Hurdle Placement and Stride Patterns
Calculate hurdle placement distances and stride patterns for track events.
How We Calculate This
Hurdle Spacing Standards
Hurdle placement follows World Athletics specifications for each event:
Stride Length Needed = Hurdle Spacing / Number of Strides Between
The distances from start to first hurdle, between hurdles, and from last hurdle to finish are all fixed by the rules. Athletes must adapt their stride pattern to match these fixed distances. The calculator shows the required stride length for your chosen stride pattern.
